In addition to our twice-weekly articles (columns on Tuesdays; features on Thursdays), China Books Review also maintains dynamic lists of all upcoming, recent and bestselling China books, as well as editors’ picks from the pack. The upcoming and recent book lists update every two weeks (with breaks for public holidays), and are comprehensive instead of selective. That is, we aspire to list every book relating to China that we find — over 500 a year, by our last count. Our definition of a “China book” is broad: any English-language title whose topic or setting relates to China or the greater Sinophone world (including Taiwan and the Chinese diaspora), as well as translated titles by Sinophone authors.

Below are links to the four lists that we regularly update:

Upcoming China Books

Our comprehensive list of any English-language book on or from China or the Sinophone world that is slated to be published in the next four months, presented across five categories with a limit of 25 books per carousel. We update this list every other Thursday (excepting public holidays).

Recent China Books

Our comprehensive list of any English-language book on or from China or the Sinophone world that was published in the last year, presented across five categories with a limit of 25 books per carousel. We update this list every other Thursday (excepting public holidays).

Bestselling China Books

Our comprehensive list of any English-language book on or from China or the Sinophone world that was published in the last year, and which ranks in the top 25 when ordered by its overall bestseller rank on Amazon.com. We update this list on the first Thursday of every month.

Editors’ Picks

Our selective list of recent English-language books on or from China or the Sinophone world which we see as having special value that adds to the conversation, across three categories. We update this list on an occasional basis, reflecting our editors’s book list columns.
